Promises... promises

Yes... more lovely, tasty, scrummy cakes have been promised on this website but a short sojurn to rainy Holland renders everything late. During Raya my sister Aida always goes the whole kaboodle making no less than 17 cakes during the festivities. This means Raya Eve, bake; wake up Raya moring go visitng, bake somemore in the afternoon and ice it and then, more icing on 2nd morning just before the first guests arrive. Mad some say but it's what makes Raya so special. This Raya was a record use of cream cheese ever. Here are 3 more cakes.

RED VELVET

Usually most people will poke at the red velvet or take a lot and not finish it. This year my brother suggested swirling lindt chocolate into the cream cheese icing and Wallah! Everything licked clean by noon time.

The one below is the CARAMEL BUTTERSCOTCH cake. It sounds tooth achingly sweet but in reality the cake has a lovely mellow caramelly taste. Everyone on the first try loved this cake. Here it's again covered in cream cheese icing with chocolate dots. I think my sister was running low on inspiration but it still worked a treat.

Finally is her FABULOUS CARROT CAKE. This is a cake that she can bake with her eyes closed. It's moist and chock full of goodness and nuts. Again more cream cheese... I will ask her how many kilos she used.
