
In the American South, red velvet cakes are served during anniversaries and weddings. Lately, there has been a revival in red velvet, with bakeries in New York offering the most delectable incarnations of this wonderful, deep red cake topped with rich cream cheese. In KL, the red velvet movement started in Spiffy Kitchen with friands and we even topped it with dark chocolate icing. What is red velvet? Basically t's buttercake with a hint of chocolate and red colouring but somehow just the thought of eating it makes you feel naughty.
